Nicolas Denys Days is an annual festival that strives to provide visitors to Cape Breton Island with an authentic Island experience. The festival scheduled the first week of August each year.
The many events planned for the week are hosted by various organizations to ensure that the whole community benefits from and participates actively in the festival. As a visitor to the area, this approach give you an opportunity to “get to know” our whole community and join in the fun all week long!
Swimming the canal is an experience you don’t want to miss. Where else can you join over a hundred people and swim or noodle your way from a lake to the ocean buoyed by good spirits and salt water.

The Celtic Colours International Festival is an experience like no other. For nine days in October, Cape Breton Island is alive with music, energy and excitement. People come from far and wide to celebrate this rich culture. From concerts to dances and workshops to community suppers, are offered a full range of events against a gorgeous backdrop of autumn colours.
